In 1998 the Wi Pere trustees commissioned renowned local tohunga Derek Lardelli
to design a logo that the Trust could use, that in his view reflected the mana of
Wi Pere. The logo as shown in the top left corner was completed by Derek and approved
and adopted by the trustees. Derek's inspiration for the logo came from his knowledge
and understanding of Wi Pere's mana. which he interprets as follows:
